Chelsea fans have called for their club to recall on-loan striker Michy Batshuayi after he netted yet another goal for Borussia Dortmund at the weekend.

The Belgian scored the only goal of the game as Dortmund beat Hannover in the Bundesliga on Sunday afternoon.

His audacious back-heel volley from Andre Schurrle’s corner was his eight goal in a yellow shirt since joining the club on-loan for the rest of the season in January.

Batshuayi moved to the Westfalonstadion as part of a trio of deals that saw Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang move to Arsenal and Olivier Giroud make the subsequent switch to Chelsea.

However, the 24-year-old Belgium international has fared far more favourably at his new club than both Aubameyang and Giroud, who have found the net only three times and once respectively since their deadline day moves.

Batshuayi hit an incredible brace on his Dortmund debut to win all three points for his new side in a 3-2 victory over Cologne, before finding the net a further five times in his next three games.

While a baron run of five games without a goal ensued after, the Batsman has now found his shooting boots again, finding the net three times in his last three appearances.

His eight goals for Dortmund plus his ten for Chelsea before the move make it 18 for the season for the former Marseille man – five more than the Blues’ struggling top scorer Alvaro Morata.

The Spaniard hit his 13th of the season and first goal since Boxing Day in the 2-1 victory over Leicester yesterday.
