BREAKING: The Blues Asked To Pay £97m German Club no.9 Next Summer

Premier League trio Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United have reportedly been told that they will have to pay £97m to sign Jamaican winger Leon Bailey.

The 20-year-old’s form for Bayer Leverkusen has drawn interest from hosts of European clubs, with initial rumours linked him with a January switch to the Premier League.

A winter switch never materialised, however, the Jamaican forward – who has found the net for eight times in 18 games in Bundesliga – has previously expressed his desire to make the switch to England.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United are among the clubs thought to be keeping up his progress, however, German publication Kicker reports that the Bundesliga outfits will demand nearly £100m in order to prise Bailey away from Leverkusen.

Bailey’s current deal with the German club runs until 2022, and they are believed to consider him of similar value to French wonderkid Ousmane Dembele, who has made the switch to Barcelona for £97m.

Bailey only joined the Bayer Leverkusen from Belgian club Genk in January of last year, with the German team paying around €20m (£17.75m) for his signature.
