Order from above? Giwa to withdraw court case after speaking with President Jonathan

Chris Giwa

Peace may finally return to Nigerian football as Chris Giwa will withdraw his case in court so the country can move forward.
A person who should know told us that during a late night (Wednesday) chat with the president of the country, Goodluck Jonathan, Giwa was told to go back and withdraw the case so that football can move forward in Nigeria.
“When the president of your country talks to you, you have no choice but listen to him so we expect the case withdrawn later today (Thursday) when it comes up in court,” Our source said.
Chris Giwa was voted into office as president of the Nigeria Football Federation on August 26, in an election that was strongly criticized and disputed by the congress of Nigerian football.
World Football governing body, FIFA “ordered” another elections for September 30 which Giwa went to a court in Jos to stop.
Despite a court order stopping the elections, the NFF went ahead and voted Amaju Pinnick as its new
president before the same court in Jos last week nullified the elections ordering Pinnick to vacate the glass house.
With FIFA writing to Nigeria for the umpteenth time giving the country until Friday to put its house in order, this development certainly comes in the nick of time.
