A few days ago, the Nigerian community in Las Vegas, United States issued a statement appealing for the release of the body of the late singer Kefee, who died on June 13 from lung failure after 15 days in a coma at Desert Spring Hospital, Las Vegas.
A statement signed by its president, Festus Ebonka read, “We appeal to Nigerians to help take her remains back home. Lots of protocols here and there to follow. It’s not a simple process. Her husband is devastated and not ready to speak yet.”
Apparently responding to the plea, the Governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan has foot the bills the late singer accumulated during her stay in the hospital and every other bill needed for the return of her corpse to Nigeria.
Meanwhile Kefee’s husband, Don-Momoh in a release signed by his publicist, Chilee Agunanna, has said he would have to return home to Nigeria first and be on ground to receive the body of his wife.
Teddy said that Kefee’s family had requested that she be buried in her hometown, Okpara-Inland, Ethiope
East Local Government, Delta State with a celebratory service in Sapele afterwards.
Those, according to him, are the only definite arrangements for his late wife’s burial so far.
